DIY Starbucks Matcha(Green Tea) Frappuccino

I had this Matcha powder from my good friend who has been in Japan last May. She asked what would I love to have coming from Japan and no doubt I said, Matcha powder.

Before, I used to like green tea for drinking purposes only. But because I have learned to love matcha-flavored desserts, I soon discovered to make my own desserts using this lovely powder.

The very first thing I made out of the powder my friend brought to me as a gift from Japan, was a Starbucks inspired Green Tea Frappuccino.

I do love SB's Frapp. In fact, whenever I order at the store I usually buy the hot or the cold version of the Green tea.

And so, I decided to make my own version and give it a try.

This recipe was inspired by pinkmacprincess of Youtube

So here it is:

Ingredients:
1 tsp matcha powder
2-3 tsp sugar
A dash of vanilla extract
1 cup ice
1 cup of milk (I used skim milk)

For the whipped cream:
1 cup heavy whipping cream
2 tbsp powdered sugar
1 tsp of vanilla extract

How to make:
1. Combine all ingredients at the blender and then blend.

2. For the whipped cream, this is optional. If you have already the whipped cream at your fridge you may skip this part.

3. Put the whipping cream to a chilled bowl and then put a dash of vanilla extract and the powdered sugar. Mix well using a standard mixer. Chill.

Note: We're using chilled bowl as to keep the whipping cream thick and smooth the way we want it.

4. Put your very own green tea mix at any cup and then top it off with our very own whipped cream.

5. Enjoy!

Hope you enjoy this treat.

Sweet!
